Shelter is a short work for choir a cappella commissioned by Nederlands Kamerkoor for the “150 Psalms” project. Today we see refugees searching for a safe haven, leaders who abuse their power, people who place fear above courage, or courage above fear. Topical themes, for thousands of years already. The project 150 Psalms regards the Psalms as a mirror of society: great themes from 3,000 years ago are still relevant today. In 2 days there will be 12 concerts, by initiator Nederlands Kamerkoor, who invited three other world-class chamber choirs: The Tallis Scholars, the Choir of Trinity Wall Street and Det Norske Solistkor.

Shelter is set to text excerpts taken from Tehillim chapter 5.
