Triple Aa

Klaus Maria Brandauer & Ana Moura

Michel van der Aa will soon be appearing at De Nederlandse Opera, the Saturday Matinee and the Dutch Music Days with three of his most important works: the opera After Life, the multimedia work The Book of Disquiet with actor Klaus Maria Brandauer in the leading role, and the song cycle Spaces of Blank.

‘Triple Aa’ marks a unique opportunity to see all three of these works in Amsterdam in the space of less than a fortnight. These Dutch performances mark the first stage of an international tour that includes performances in London, Lyon, Hamburg, Saarbrücken and Oporto.

about

Michel van der Aa (Netherlands, 1970) is one of Europe’s most sought-after composers today.
For Van der Aa, music is more than organized sound or a structuring of notes. His music has expressive power, combining sounds and scenic images in a play of changing perspectives. Van der Aa’s recent stage works show a successful involvement as a film and stage director as well as composer.
